Even though IE7 is out, I still want everything looking properly with IE6.

I'm having some trouble. It isn't too much code and it probably won't take very long to fix.

^ Notice how the sidebar gets thrown to the very bottom in IE? How do I fix this?

There may not be any bugs if your code wasn't bad. You have 46 errors, see them here (http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.thesarcasm.com%2F).

Alright, question. How do I use the ALT attribute if the image is displayed through the CSS?

<img src="images/ico/Script.ico" alt="" />

You can put alternative text in there if you like but it will validate without it.

If the image is a background image then don't worry about it. You can use text replacement techniques if you like but for presentational images its not really that big of a deal. For actual image tags then go with Mark's solution.

Sure thing. Now, what is the importance of validation? Is it just a check to make sure it'll be compatible with all browsers? What exactly does it do?

Secondly, how do I go about bringing the sidebar up to where it should be?

It gives you the maximum possibility that the browser will display the page correctly. It also allows the CSS to work properly. It doesn't leave browsers guessing. I'm not about to look at why the sidebar isn't working just right until you finish validating. Many times just validating fixes some issues with display.
