A small character box appears under text boxes in NN4

Hello,

A small uneditable box (one character small) appears under each text box on my form. It only shows up when viewing in Netscape 4.x. What is this and how do I get rid of it?. I am using CSS to style my form elements.

Any ideas??

Border styling could do that to NN4.

PauletteB, you are correct - NN4 did not like the use of the border-width property. Once I set the property to none in the styling sheet, the small boxes disappeared.

To do this correctly, either create external stylesheet with properties for other browsers than NN4 and import it :
<style type="text/css">
@import "nameOfTheFile.css";
</style>

or use !important property to fool NN4 :
<style type="text/css">
INPUT {font:normal 12px arial,serif;}
INPUT {!important;border:2px outset #C0C0C8;}
</style>
