    mod rewrite question

    Morning

Hey just wonding, have requests coming into an apache web server on on an ippaddress, not a domain ... I was going to use mod_rewrite to forward most of the traffic on to an external server (another ip address) straight away.

For instance ... http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/?id=xx will be redirected to http://x1x.x1x.x1x.x1x/?id=xx
I figured mod_rewrite is the easiest way, an I correct? and mod rewrite does not have a problem redirecting/masking external IP's, does it?

    any advice, would be great.
    thanks

Yes it sounds as if mod_rewrite would be the best way to solve your problem.

Mod_rewrite can handle re-directs to external IPs.

Take a look at Apache's mod_rewrite documentation for more information on how this works. If you get stuck, ask some more questions here.
