    Editing Apache Config Question

I need to edit the Apache Config on my webhost however im not sure how to go about doing this. I need to change the Timeout from 300 seconds to something greater. Can this be done using .htaccess and if so how? If not can this value be changed? My host wont do it

You'll need to ask the guys that run the server to do it for you, or let you have access to it.
