    mod security blocking legit request

    Hi guys

    Ok this is new for me. Seeking advice and opinions.

    problem: mod security blocks my site.

    I built a small CMS to upload articles to database. Everything works fine except
    when I try to insert an article that contains a link with a page anchor.

    For example using tinymce, as soon as I include this

    <a href="news.php#uk12345">

    in an article and send it to database

    mod security trips and blocks me from viewing my site.

    My website host said they can turn off mod security, but is that ok? Seems wrong to me.

    Surely there must be an over sensitive rule that can be removed.

    I cannot understand why the above type of link would trip anything and my web host
    is not really answering my questions.

    Any insight opinion welcome.

    Hi

    Just in case anybody comes across a similar type of issue.

    Eventual answer: web hosting provider whitelisted the modsec rule for the Domain.
