Restart Apache so php.ini is reloaded

I have Apache version 2.2.21 but I have never used it.

How do I restart the Apache server so that PHP modules and attributes from php.ini will be reloaded.

It depends on the operating system. Windows is typically find the taskbar icon, click on it, reload/restart.

    Linux is typically one of
    /etc/init.d/apache2 reload (or /etc/init.d/apache2 restart)
    service apache2 restart
    service httpd restart

If it's not a production server, just a development machine, I'd do a restart rather than a reload.
