    htaccess help please!

i host my band's website www.manamucova.com with virgin media.

    the actual address is http://www.manamucova.webspace.virgi...om/manamusite/

but i have url masking so for example www.manamucova.com/music/ goes to the music section, however, if you miss the last slash (www.manamucova.com/music) you lose the url masking and it goes back to the virginmedia site in the address bar.

is there a way to put rewrite rules in htaccess to redirect or somehow to make it so that any time someone goes to a link without the last slash it goes to the correct page without going to the virginmedia page?

    i'd appreciate any help.

all i've been able to modify so far in htaccess is an error 404 page which i've just made the same as the homepage for now.

does anyone know if virginmedia supports any other ocding in htaccess?

thank you in advance and i hope it all makes sense!

Please show your current htaccess rules which do the redirect.

I don't currently have any rewrite rules. the only thing in my htaccess is the 404 error one. this is in the root directory of virginmedia (before the file manamusite which contains the web pages)

The URL masking is done within the control panel of the place where I registered the domain and is nothing to with any coding I've added.

ok i've played around with redirect (just redirecting to google to test it)

all i've been able to do is forward both manamucova.com/music/ AND manamucova.webspace.virginmedia.com/manamusite/music/ to google.co.uk.

It can't pick up the difference between /music/ and /music without the last slash.

Is it possible for it to pick up exactly what is in the address bar as a conditional redirect without making it go round in an infinate loop? because manamucova.com/music/ and manamucova.webspace.virginmedia.com/manamusite/music/ are EXACTLY the same thing but if it could pick the on up fact that it is now displaying virginmedia and "correct itself" by directing it to the correct url of manamucova.com/music/ (with the final slash)

I'm sorry that it is hard to explain. I'm very new to all of this and appreciate any help i can get!

    Cheers!

So how is the URL forwarded now? Are you using frame forwarding with your domain registrar or something? Sounds like it's not an Apache/rewrite issue to me.
