Help Needed With A Mod_Rewrite Issue

I have WordPress blog category URLs like:
    Code:
    http://www.mysite.com/category/computer-security
    http://www.mysite.com/category/hardware
I want to simply eliminate the word "category" and make my URLs like:
    Code:
    http://www.mysite.com/computer-security
    http://www.mysite.com/hardware
    Any help will be appreciated.

That's the worst spam I've seen in ages @BraydenAudrey

Anyway's this is quite simple and no code modifying needed, just go to your WordPress admin area and scroll down and on the left-hand corner you will see "Settings" click on "Permalinks" in that box and you will have a few options for how the post url looks like and then "Optional" under that you can change the Category base and Tag base to however you like.

If that doesn't help then just put a hyphen in the "Category base" and that will make your category links look like "http://example.org/-/categoryname".

    Hope this helps!
