    ajax uploader chunk size

    Hi,

i was curious about chunk size with an ajax video uploader...

my max vid size is 275MB
i have limited my php ini to 250M

but when i go to set chunkslice size in the ajax config is it better to have more chunk and less requests or more requests and smaller chunks

    chunkSize:100000, /* 1048576 */ /* changed it here */

i reduced it down from 1MB to 100K bytes, is that better for a shared server?

    thanks

the larger the chunk, the faster the upload. with more chunks, you have more http overhead and bit stream pauses, but also the more opportunities to resend a dropped chunk. i would go for at least 5mb chunks, if not 20 or 50...

Thanks, i did change it to 20MB and timed the same upload in a test and it was not faster, not even by a little bit. So either that config section is not being used in the file or the server has an override for that someplace in server config.

    Thanks for the info..
