    cross domain problem

In portlet when I am trying to hit a file located inside root of tomcat server,Access to restricted URI denied" code: "1012 error is coming and in IE it is giving error "Permission Denied" when returning the xmlHttp.responseText, when I searched for this error the reason explained there was "cross-domain request" that I am trying to hit localhost:8080 from localhost:10040.
So can somebody help me?Its urgent.

AJAX is not able to perform a cross-domain request, for obvious security reasons. You need a server-to-server request (on using php, asp, ...)
