    ajax php msql website query

Hi im new to using ajax. Im trying to make a shopping cart that implements dragging and dropping features. my basic plan works making two ares one table that contains my draggables and one that contains the dropzone, it works fine. the question i have is is it possible to have php query a mysql item database and grab the items id with the items price and quantity for the draggables instead of listing them individually in the code of the website? thanks for the information

oh yea i knoe html, css, javascript, i knoe a tiny bit of php but have acess to references and what not, i knoe the same amount of imformation for coldfusion and mysql.

yes... that would an ideal application of ajax.

basically on drop you'd create a request to a php page which would query against your mysql db and return the results. the requesting page would take the scripted actions with the returned information.
